2025 Tour du gatineau

This year’s Tour du Gatineau was one of those weekends that remind you why it’s such a privilege to live and ride in this region. For three days, the streets of Gatineau came alive with the hum of race wheels and the roar of the crowd as some of the best cyclists in the world went head-to-head on familiar roads. I went out to capture the action with my camera, and the energy was incredible — riders flying past the Ottawa River, fans cheering at every corner, and a palpable sense of pride that our hometown could host a world-class event like this.

Visma–Lease a Bike dominated the racing this year, with Lieke Nooijen taking the time trial and Nienke Veenhovenwinning the road race in a sprint finish, leading a clean sweep for the team. Local fans had plenty to cheer for too, with Laury Millette putting in a strong ride to finish fifth and showing that Canadian talent is right up there with the best.

From behind the lens, moments like these are special — the mix of intensity, emotion, and community spirit all blending into one. The Tour du Gatineau isn’t just another race; it’s a celebration of cycling in our backyard, and every year it delivers something to remember.
